Antropophagus

Horror,Thriller  Italy

Antropophagus is a 1980 Italian horror film directed by Joe D'Amato. The story follows a group of American tourists who go on a boat trip in Greece and end up stranded on an uninhabited island. The island was once home to a small fishing village, but the residents were all killed by a man named Klaus, who went insane and became a violent and grotesque killer.

As the tourists explore the island, they discover the abandoned village and uncover the gruesome murders that occurred there. They soon realize that Klaus is still alive and stalking them, picking them off one by one.

The film is known for its graphic violence and disturbing imagery, particularly the scenes featuring Klaus, who has resorted to cannibalism in his quest for survival. The tourists are hunted down in gruesome fashion, with Klaus disemboweling his victims and devouring their flesh.

Antropophagus has drawn criticism for its extreme content, particularly in the UK where it was banned as a "video nasty" in the 1980s. Despite this, the film has developed a cult following among horror fans for its chilling atmosphere and shocking brutality.
