Ant-Man and the Wasp is a 2018 superhero film directed by Peyton Reed and starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, and Laurence Fishburne. It is the sequel to 2015's Ant-Man and the twentieth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The movie picks up two years after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Scott Lang is on house arrest for his participation in the Avengers' clash in Germany. He is trying to balance his life as a superhero with his responsibilities as a father to his daughter Cassie.
Meanwhile, Hank Pym and his daughter Hope van Dyne have been searching for a way to rescue Janet van Dyne, Hope's mother and Hank's wife, who has been trapped in the quantum realm for decades. They believe that Scott's experience in the quantum realm during the first Ant-Man movie can be useful in their rescue mission.
Despite his early reluctance, Scott agrees to help Hank and Hope, and they soon discover that there are other people also searching for Janet. One of them is the mysterious and powerful Ghost, who can phase through objects and wants to use Janet's quantum energy to save her own life.
As the clock ticks, Scott and his team must find a way to rescue Janet and avoid getting caught by the FBI, who are monitoring Scott's every move. Along the way, they face a series of obstacles, including a black market dealer named Sonny Burch and a tough, wisecracking ex-con named Luis.
Ant-Man and the Wasp features stunning visuals and thrilling action sequences, with the added bonus of humor and heart. The chemistry between the lead actors, particularly Rudd and Lilly, is fun and engaging. The movie also sets up new storylines for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while providing closure to some characters' arcs.
