The movie Anthem of a Teenage Prophet is based on the award-winning novel of the same name by Joanne Proulx. It tells the story of Luke Hunter, a high school student in a small town who is haunted by premonitions of his friend's death. Despite his efforts to warn his friend and prevent the tragedy, it comes to pass and Luke is labeled the "Prophet of Death" by his classmates.
As Luke struggles to deal with the aftermath of his premonitions and the guilt he feels for not being able to save his friend, he finds himself drawn to his best friend's girlfriend, Faith. Despite his feelings for her, Luke is torn between his loyalty to his friend's memory and his desire for Faith.
As the movie unfolds, Luke tries to come to terms with his gift/curse while navigating the complexities of high school relationships. Along the way, he learns important lessons about love, loss, and the power of believing in oneself. The film features an all-star cast, including Cameron Monaghan as Luke, Peyton List as Faith, and Juliette Lewis as Luke's mother.
