Another You is a 1991 comedy film directed by Maurice Phillips and starring Richard Pryor, Gene Wilder, and Mercedes Ruehl. The movie features two con artists, Eddie Dash (played by Gene Wilder) and Rupert Dibbs (played by Richard Pryor), who team up to scam their way through life.
After three years in a mental hospital, George (played by Richard Pryor) is released into the care of his new friend, Eddie. George suffers from a multiple personality disorder and believes he is Abe, the millionaire son of a famous businessman. Eddie sees an opportunity to profit from George's delusion and decides to play along with his identity.
As Eddie and George make their way through the city, people are amazed that Abe is back after being missing for so long. They are constantly mistaken for each other, which leads to some hilarious situations. Soon, the police become suspicious of their scheme and begin to investigate.
Meanwhile, an attractive woman named Elaine (played by Mercedes Ruehl) enters their lives and throws a wrench into their plans. Eddie starts to fall for Elaine and begins to question his motives for keeping up the charade. Furthermore, Rupert (played by Richard Pryor) also shows up, threatening to expose their scam.
As the plot thickens, tensions rise, and the trio finds themselves in deeper trouble than they initially bargained for. Another You is a hilarious comedy that showcases the talents of two comedic legends and their unmatched chemistry on screen.
