Animal House

Animal House is a classic American comedy film that was directed by John Landis and released in 1978. The movie is set in 1962 and follows a group of misfit college students who belong to the Delta Tau Chi fraternity at Faber College. The frat is known for their wild parties, pranks, and general disregard for rules and authority.

The dean of Faber College, Vernon Wormer, is actively working to shut down the Delta frat by any means necessary. He enlists the help of a rival fraternity, Omega Theta Pi, to gather evidence of Delta's misbehavior. However, the Deltas don't go down without a fight and come up with an elaborate plan to get revenge on the dean and his cronies.

Throughout the course of the film, the Deltas engage in outrageous pranks, such as stealing the answers to an important exam and throwing a wild toga party. They also have run-ins with the local police and rival fraternities, creating chaos and havoc on campus.

The movie stars John Belushi as John "Bluto" Blutarsky, the lovable and unpredictable leader of the Delta frat. Other notable cast members include Tim Matheson as Eric "Otter" Stratton, Tom Hulce as Larry "Pinto" Kroger, and Karen Allen as Katy, a love interest for one of the Delta members.

Animal House is widely regarded as a classic of American cinema and has influenced countless other comedies in the years since its release. It grossed over $140 million at the box office and was one of the most successful movies of 1978.
