Drama,Family,Romance,Comedy  United States of America

Angus is a 1995 coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Patrick Read Johnson and based on a novel by Chris Crutcher. The film follows the titular character, Angus Bethune, a high school student who is constantly bullied and ostracized due to his size and lack of social status. However, Angus has a crush on a popular girl named Melissa Lefevre, who he believes is out of his league.

When Angus is unexpectedly chosen to be Melissa's dance partner at the Winter Ball, he is ecstatic, but also nervous about embarrassing himself in front of the whole school. Melissa, who is also an outcast, is reluctant at first, but she eventually warms up to Angus' genuine kindness and starts to see beyond his physical appearance.

Meanwhile, Angus' best friend, Rick, helps him transform his look by giving him a punk rock makeover. This new look catches the attention of the school's popular kids, who begin to see Angus in a new light.

As the Winter Ball approaches, Angus must navigate his insecurities and overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of him and Melissa's budding romance. With the help of his friends and newfound confidence, Angus proves that true beauty comes from within.

The film stars Charlie Talbert as Angus, alongside Ariana Richards as Melissa and James Van Der Beek as Rick. The movie received generally positive reviews for its heartwarming story and strong performances, but it failed to make a significant impact at the box office. However, it has since become a cult classic and is beloved by many for its poignant message of self-love and acceptance.
