The movie Angels Sing is a heartwarming family drama that follows the story of Michael Walker (played by Harry Connick Jr.), a man who had a difficult childhood and lost his holiday spirit after a tragic event on Christmas day. Michael grew up in a family that loved Christmas and he was always enthusiastic about the holiday season. However, one year, while playing with his new toy car, Michael accidentally caused a car accident that resulted in the death of his younger brother.
Since that day, Michael has been unable to enjoy Christmas. He tries to avoid the holiday as much as possible, but his wife Susan (played by Connie Britton) and parents (played by Kris Kristofferson and Fionnula Flanagan) keep trying to bring the Christmas spirit back into his life. Michael's son David (played by Chandler Canterbury) also loves Christmas, but he is facing a medical condition that threatens to take away his joy for the holiday season as well.
One day, Michael meets a mysterious man named Nick (played by Willie Nelson), who introduces him to the concept of "Christmas cards". Nick gives him a card with a special message and tells him to make a wish and then pass the card on to someone who needs it more than he does. Through this experience, Michael learns to confront his past and find the joy that he lost.
Throughout the movie, Michael struggles with his emotions and tries to repair his relationship with his family. He also gets to know his neighbor (played by Lyle Lovett), who is a fellow Christmas enthusiast and helps him rediscover the magic of the holiday season. In the end, Michael is able to make amends with his past and come to terms with his loss, realizing that the true meaning of Christmas is about love, forgiveness, and the spirit of giving.
