The movie Angels & Demons, based on the best-selling book by Dan Brown, follows Robert Langdon (played by Tom Hanks) as he teams up with physicist Vittoria Vetra (played by Ayelet Zurer) to stop the Illuminati from carrying out their plan to destroy the Vatican City with an antimatter weapon. Along their way, they decipher clues left by the Illuminati that lead them to historic landmarks and works of art in Rome.
As Langdon and Vetra race against time to find the antimatter before it explodes, they confront dangerous members of the Illuminati, including the Camerlengo (played by Ewan McGregor), who has his own agenda. The stakes are high as Langdon and Vetra must not only save the lives of four kidnapped cardinals, but also prevent a catastrophic disaster that could shake the foundations of the Catholic Church.
