Angel Has Fallen is an action thriller film released in 2019, directed by Ric Roman Waugh and starring Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, and Jada Pinkett Smith. It is the third installment in the Fallen film series, following Olympus Has Fallen (2013) and London Has Fallen (2016).
In the movie, Mike Banning (played by Gerard Butler), a trusted Secret Service agent and close friend of President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman), is on a fishing trip with his father Clay (Nick Nolte) when their location is attacked by armed drones. Banning manages to survive the attack and returns to work.
However, while serving on duty protecting the President during a fishing trip, Banning is framed for an assassination attempt on Trumbull. He is immediately arrested and interrogated by the FBI, led by Agent Helen Thompson (Jada Pinkett Smith). But Banning manages to escape and goes on the run, determined to clear his name and uncover the real threat to the President.
As Banning evades his own agency and the FBI, he discovers that there is a complex conspiracy at work involving rogue agents and corrupt politicians who are trying to take down Trumbull and seize power. With the help of his father, who turns out to be an ex-vet and sharpshooter, and former colleagues, Banning fights back against the forces trying to destroy him and the President.
Throughout the movie, there are several intense action sequences, including a car chase, a drone attack, and a final showdown between Banning and the main antagonist. The film received mixed reviews from critics but grossed over $146 million worldwide, making it a moderate commercial success.
