Analyze This is a 1999 American crime comedy film directed by Harold Ramis and starring Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal. De Niro plays Paul Vitti, a feared Mob boss who begins to suffer from panic attacks and is referred to psychotherapist Dr. Ben Sobel (Crystal) for treatment. Sobel initially refuses to treat Vitti despite his repeated attempts to see him. However, when Vitti's panic attacks continue to worsen and he becomes increasingly unhinged, Sobel reluctantly agrees to help him.

The film is a satire of Mafia films, with countless references and parodies of iconic scenes and characters from classic gangster movies. As Vitti struggles to balance his role as a ruthless mob boss with his newfound vulnerability and need for therapy, he and Sobel become an odd couple of sorts, navigating a series of absurd and unlikely situations together.

As Sobel works to help Vitti confront his deep-seated emotional issues, their relationship evolves from patient and therapist to something more akin to friends. Along the way, they encounter a colorful cast of characters including Vitti's loyal henchmen, rival Mafia bosses, and Sobel's own dysfunctional family.

Analyze This was a commercial success, grossing over $176 million worldwide and spawning a sequel, Analyze That, in 2002. The film was lauded for its performances by De Niro and Crystal, and for its successful blending of comedy and drama.
