Analyse That is a comedy crime movie that was released in 2002. It is the sequel to the film Analyze This. The movie stars Robert De Niro, Billy Crystal, and Lisa Kudrow. In the film, Paul Vitti, a former mafia boss, is released from prison and returns to his psychiatrist, Dr. Ben Sobel, for help. However, this time, Vitti also helps Sobel deal with his family issues and stress levels.
The movie opens with Paul Vitti in prison for several years, and he has become clinically depressed. He has lost his confidence and his power, and he feels like an outsider in the prison hierarchy. He then fakes a breakdown to get transferred to a mental institution, where he can work out a plan to escape.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sobel is struggling with stress at home and work. He is running his father's medical practice, dealing with his own emotional issues, and trying to adjust to life as a father. When Vitti returns to his office, Sobel initially refuses to work with him, but eventually relents after Vitti helps him during a particularly difficult time.
Vitti decides to go straight and establishes himself as a legitimate businessman. However, his criminal associates are not happy with his new life, and they attempt to force him back into the mob. Dr. Sobel is inadvertently involved in the conflict, and the two work together to uncover a plot against Vitti before it's too late.
The film features several memorable comedic moments as Paul Vitti and Dr. Sobel navigate their complex relationship. The movie also features strong supporting performances from actors such as Joe Viterelli and Cathy Moriarty. Analyze That is directed by Harold Ramis and written by Peter Steinfeld and Harold Ramis.
