An Ode to Yakuza is a drama film that explores the complex relationships between the members of a yakuza group, their loved ones, and their aspirations and dreams beyond the life of crime. The film is set in the bustling Shinjuku area of Tokyo, a hub of yakuza activity.
The protagonist, Tatematsu Minoru, is a high-ranking member of the Ishikawa group, which controls Shinjuku. One day, a new tutor named Hiroko enters Akane's life. Hiroko is a gentle and caring person who quickly develops a bond with Akane. As the two spend more time together, Akane begins to see a new path for herself, one that does not involve her brother's yakuza world.
