Amityville II: The Possession is a 1982 horror film and a prequel to the 1979 film The Amityville Horror. The film is loosely based on the real-life murder case of the DeFeo family, who were killed in their Amityville home by their son Ronald DeFeo Jr. in 1974. The film follows the Montelli family, who move into the infamous Amityville house and quickly become subjected to its malevolent presence.

The film stars James Olson as Father Adamsky, a local priest who tries to help the family overcome the evil that has possessed their home. Burt Young plays the patriarch of the Montelli family, Anthony, who becomes increasingly abusive and possessed by the evil in the house. His wife, Dolores, is played by Rutanya Alda, and their children are portrayed by Jack Magner, Diane Franklin, and Erika Katz.

As the family begins to experience terrifying phenomena, Anthony's possession becomes more severe, causing him to become increasingly violent towards his family. Meanwhile, the eldest son, Sonny, finds himself becoming more and more under the influence of the evil presence in the house. Eventually, the situation comes to a climax with a shocking and violent sequence of events.

The film received mixed reviews upon release, but is considered to be a cult classic among horror fans. It is known for its graphic violence, particularly towards the end of the film, and for its depiction of demonic possession. Despite not being a box office success, the film spawned several sequels and remakes in the following years.
