Horror,Romance,Thriller  India

Amavas is an Indian horror film that was released in 2019. The film revolves around the lives of a couple, Karan and Ahana (played by Sachiin Joshi and Nargis Fakhri), who decide to stay in a bungalow that belongs to Karan's deceased father. Unbeknownst to them, the bungalow is haunted by a malevolent spirit that feeds on human souls.

Soon after moving in, strange things begin to happen - doors open and close on their own, objects move by themselves, and there are eerie whispers and screams in the middle of the night. Ahana, who has a history of psychiatric issues, starts to feel like she's losing her grip on reality. Karan, on the other hand, refuses to believe that the house is haunted and dismisses Ahana's fears as hallucinations.

Things take a turn for the worse when Ahana gets possessed by the spirit and starts exhibiting violent behavior. Karan seeks the help of a paranormal investigator, Shivani (played by Mona Singh), who reveals that the house is cursed and that they won't be able to leave until they break the curse. The rest of the film follows Karan and Shivani's efforts to uncover the truth about the curse and free Ahana from the spirit's clutches.

Overall, Amavas is a classic haunted house story with all the usual tropes - creaky doors, jump scares, and creepy dolls. While the film doesn't break any new ground in terms of horror storytelling, it manages to keep the audience engaged with its fast-paced narrative and solid performances by the lead actors.
