The teenage girl, named Samantha, has endured years of physical and emotional abuse from her stepfather. One night, she can no longer take the abuse and decides to run away. She stumbles upon a group of homeless youth led by Jade, a fierce and independent young woman who has been living on the streets for years.
At first, Samantha struggles to adjust to life on the streets, but gradually she grows close to Jade and the other members of their makeshift family, including a kind-hearted but troubled young man named Alex, a streetwise teenager named Carlos, and a vulnerable but resilient girl named Mia.
