All the World Is Sleeping follows the story of Maria, a Chicana living in New Mexico, who is battling addiction while raising her young daughter, Mia. Maria's addiction has strained her relationships with the people around her, including her sister, Carmen, who is constantly trying to help her.
As her addiction worsens, Maria begins to experience vivid hallucinations and nightmares, blurring the lines between reality and her drug-fueled visions. These visions become more and more intense as Maria sinks deeper into her addiction.
Meanwhile, Carmen becomes more involved in Maria's life, trying to help her get clean and become a better mother to Mia. But their efforts are complicated by the arrival of an old friend of Maria's, Nate, who brings his own struggles with addiction and dubious motives for reconnecting with Maria.
The film explores themes of addiction, motherhood, and the power of family bonds, as Maria fights to stay alive and overcome her demons. In the end, it's the love for her daughter that drives her to pursue sobriety and a brighter future for their family.
