Emily Harris is a struggling artist who is going through a rough time in her life. She is recently divorced, broke, and has no friends to rely on. Her main source of comfort is the wine bottle she keeps by her side, and in one of her drunken stupors, Emily decides to write a letter to Santa Claus, asking him to make her life a little better.
To her surprise, her wishes start coming true - but not in the way she had expected. She wakes up one morning to find her ex-husband, who left her for another woman, standing at her doorstep, begging for her forgiveness. She receives a job offer from a prestigious art gallery, and her artwork starts getting recognized by critics.
As Emily's life starts getting better, she realizes that her wishes are coming at a price. Her ex-husband's return is temporary and is causing more drama in her life. The art gallery job is too good to be true, and she finds herself compromising on her artistic visions. Emily's wine-soaked wishes are starting to have consequences that she didn't anticipate.
Over time, Emily realizes that the things she truly wanted for Christmas were things money couldn't buy. Through her struggles and realizations, she learns to appreciate the little things in life and the people who truly care about her.
