Albino Alligator is a 1996 crime thriller film directed by Kevin Spacey, marking his directorial debut. The film stars Matt Dillon, Gary Sinise, William Fichtner, and Faye Dunaway.
The three petty thieves, Dova (Dillon), Milo (Sinise), and Law (Fichtner), find themselves trapped inside a basement bar after a failed robbery attempt. They take the five bar employees as hostages and demand that they be allowed to leave safely.
As the police outside try to negotiate with the criminals, tensions rise inside the bar, and one of the hostages, Janet (Dunaway), reveals a dark secret about the bar that adds another layer to the already intense situation.
As the night wears on, the criminals become increasingly desperate and violent, and the hostages do whatever they can to survive. Meanwhile, the police must weigh their options and consider that the situation may not be as straightforward as it seems.
The film is a tense, claustrophobic thriller that explores the psychology of its characters as they grapple with their dangerous circumstances. Spacey's direction is assured and stylish, and the performances from the cast are uniformly excellent.
