Albanian Gangster follows the story of Nikita (played by Matt D'Elia), an ex-pat Albanian who has just been released from prison in New York City. Though he seems to be attempting to turn over a new leaf by pursuing a relationship with a local woman, Emily (played by Emmauelle Chriqui), Nikita quickly becomes embroiled in a world of crime and violence as he seeks revenge against those who betrayed him and caused him to do time.
As Nikita delves deeper into this world, he must navigate the dangerous alliances and tensions that exist between the various Albanian gangs and organized crime groups in the city. He is aided in his quest for revenge by a number of accomplices, including his best friend and fellow ex-con, Marco (played by John Rezaj), and an enigmatic Russian mob boss, Ivan (played by Abraham Bobadilla).
As the city's criminal underworld explodes into a bloody turf war, Nikita finds himself torn between his desire for revenge and his growing feelings for Emily. Will he be able to protect her from the violence of his past, or will their love be destroyed by the forces of darkness that threaten to consume them both?
