In Airwolf: The Movie, Michael Archangel's mission to recover the stolen Airwolf helicopter becomes personal when he learns that his former lover and Airwolf's creator, Dr. Charles Henry Moffet, is behind the theft. Moffet, who was previously presumed dead, has a chip on his shoulder and seeks revenge against those who betrayed him in the past.

Hawke, who had a previous relationship with Moffet's daughter, is reluctant to assist Archangel due to the dangers involved and his own personal history with Moffet. However, he eventually agrees to take on the mission, with the help of his trusted friend Santini.

As they travel to Libya to retrieve Airwolf, Hawke and Santini face a series of obstacles, including run-ins with mercenaries, a high-speed chase through the desert, and a dangerous aerial battle. Along the way, they also encounter Caitlin, a journalist who is investigating Moffet's activities, and form a romantic connection with her.

After a series of tense confrontations and betrayals, Hawke and Santini succeed in recovering Airwolf and destroying Moffet's plans for a deadly new weapon. However, they pay a heavy price for their victory, with both physical and emotional scars that they will carry with them long after the mission is over.
