Age Out is a drama film directed by A.J. Edwards and starring Tye Sheridan as Richie, a young man who has just aged out of the foster care system and must find a way to survive on the streets. Along the way, he meets a kind-hearted woman named Joan, played by Imogen Poots, who takes him under her wing and teaches him how to live a fulfilling life.
As Richie struggles to find a job, he turns to petty crime, stealing from gas stations and convenience stores. However, he soon realizes that this is not a sustainable way to live and that he must find a way to turn his life around. With the help of Joan, he begins to build a new life for himself, but as their friendship blossoms into an unlikely romance, they face the difficult reality that their pasts may prevent them from having a future together.
The film also stars Jeffrey Wright as a police officer who becomes entangled in Richie's criminal activities, and Caleb Landry Jones as a volatile drug dealer who threatens to disrupt Richie's newfound stability. Age Out is a poignant exploration of the challenges facing young people who age out of the foster care system, and the transformative power of love and friendship.
