Age of Summer is a coming-of-age movie that takes place in the summer of 1986 in Hermosa Beach. The protagonist, a 16-year-old boy named Minnesota, dreams of becoming a Jr. Lifeguard, but he is too skinny and awkward to fit in with the athletic and popular kids who make up the team.
Despite being constantly teased and bullied, Minnesota refuses to give up on his dream and is determined to prove his worth. He puts himself through grueling physical training and practices tirelessly until he finally earns a spot on the team.
