Against a Crooked Sky is a Western film released in 1975 and directed by Earl Bellamy. The movie follows the story of a pioneer family living on the edge of civilization in the American West. When their eldest daughter is abducted by a mysterious tribe of Indians, her brother, Sam Sutter, takes on the challenge of tracking her down and bringing her home.

Sam, along with his trusty horse, sets out on a dangerous journey through harsh terrain to rescue his sister. Along the way, he encounters a broken down prospector by the name of Mule (Richard Boone), who agrees to help him in his quest. Mule is initially reluctant to join Sam's mission, but his conscience eventually gets the better of him.

As they journey deeper into the wilderness, Sam and Mule face many obstacles and challenges that test their resolve and put their lives in danger. They brave treacherous river crossings, face hostile Indian tribes, and narrowly escape a deadly ambush by a band of ruthless outlaws.

Finally, Sam manages to locate his sister and finds her under the guard of the dreaded Crooked Sky tribe. The tribe is known for its sadistic ways and its elaborate test of passage that involves shooting an arrow at the challenger. Sam must pass this test in order to win back his sister's freedom and save her life.

As the day of the test approaches, tensions mount, and the fate of the siblings hangs in the balance. Against all odds, Sam manages to pass the test and save his sister from certain death. With their mission accomplished, Sam and Mule make their way back home, with a new-found respect for each other and a sense of pride in their accomplishment.
