After the Sunset is a 2004 heist comedy film directed by Brett Ratner and starring Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek, and Woody Harrelson. The movie revolves around two master thieves, Max Burdett (Brosnan) and Lola Cirillo (Hayek), who have decided to retire from their criminal activities and settle down in a luxurious villa on an island in the Bahamas.
However, their peaceful life is soon interrupted when their old nemesis, FBI agent Stan P. Lloyd (Harrelson), shows up to check on their retirement and investigate a series of diamond thefts that he believes are linked to Max and Lola. To make things more complicated, an ocean liner named Diamond Cruise arrives at the island's port, carrying a rare and valuable diamond that captures the attention of all three characters.
Despite Max and Lola's assurances of their retirement, Stan remains suspicious and begins to follow them around the island, hoping to catch them in the act of stealing the diamond. Max and Lola, however, are more interested in enjoying their retirement and begin to explore their options for a more permanent life on the island.
As the plot unfolds, it becomes clear that all three characters have their own hidden agendas and are not revealing their true intentions. Max and Lola are planning to steal the diamond and set up their retirement for good, while Stan is determined to catch them and prove that he is not a failure as an agent.
The movie features stunning scenery of the Bahamas, as well as dazzling heist sequences and witty banter between the three main characters. The plot, while predictable at times, keeps the audience engaged and entertained, and the chemistry between Brosnan, Hayek, and Harrelson is undeniable. Overall, After the Sunset is a fun and enjoyable heist movie with a beautiful tropical twist.
