After the Dark, also known as The Philosophers, is a 2013 science-fiction psychological thriller film directed by John Huddles. The film is set at an international school in Jakarta where a philosophy teacher, Mr. Zimit, challenges his class of twenty graduating seniors to choose which ten of them would take shelter underground and reboot the human race in the event of a nuclear apocalypse. The twist in the challenge is that each student must justify their decision based on their skills, abilities, and personal values while also considering the potential consequences of their choices.
