After Hours is a 1985 dark comedy directed by Martin Scorsese. The film follows the story of Paul Hackett, a word processor who lives an uneventful life and who's looking for excitement. One night, he meets Marcy at a coffee shop in New York, who invites him to come to her apartment in Soho.

Excited for some adventure, Paul decides to go to Marcy's apartment, but this decision leads him down a chaotic and increasingly bizarre night. He encounters a series of strange and odd characters and experiences a never-ending series of mishaps and twists that drag him further into the bowels of the underground art scene in New York's Soho district.

The night consists of Paul losing his money, getting kicked out of bars, being chased by a mob through a warehouse, and even being tied up by a group of artists who mistake him for a burglar. Paul desperately tries to get back home but finds himself in an endless loop of misadventures and obstacles.

The movie tells a darkly comedic story about life in New York and showcases Scorsese's keen eye for detail and characterization. It stars Griffin Dunne as Paul Hackett, Rosanna Arquette as Marcy, and a range of notable actors in supporting roles, including Cheech Marin, Teri Garr, Catherine O'Hara, and John Heard.
