After Class follows the life of an NYU Professor, Josh Cohn (played by Justin Long), as he faces criticism for his controversial behavior at the college. His reputation is on the line, and he spends much of his time and energy trying to clear his name and get back to the business of teaching.

However, his personal life is also spiraling out of control. His father, Bill (Richard Schiff), is suffering from Alzheimer's disease, and his mother, Agatha (Lynn Cohen), has been admitted to the hospital with a life-threatening illness. The family is struggling to come to terms with the fact that they may soon lose their matriarch.

Amidst all this chaos, Josh reconnects with his sister, Jackie (Kate Berlant), and his young niece, Lily (Daisy Tahan). He also finds himself drawn to a student, Jess (Zoe Chao), who seems to understand what he's going through and offers a sympathetic ear.

Meanwhile, Diane (Fran Drescher), Agatha's daughter, is struggling to cope with her mother's illness. She's unprepared for the possibility of a life without her mother, and turns to her ex-husband, David (David Krumholtz), for comfort and support.

As the family comes together to support Agatha in her final days, they must also confront their own personal demons. Each member of the family is dealing with their own unique struggles, and they must find a way to come together and support each other in order to make it through this difficult time.

After Class is a touching and poignant family drama that explores the bonds of family, the weight of responsibility, and the struggle to come to terms with the inevitable. With a talented cast and a heartfelt story, it's a movie that will resonate with anyone who has ever had to say goodbye to a loved one.
