Afro Samurai: Resurrection is a 2009 Japanese-American anime film directed by Fuminori Kizaki. It is a sequel to the 2007 anime series Afro Samurai, which was based on the manga by Takashi Okazaki. The film was produced by Studio Gonzo and released in Japan on January 25, 2009, and in the United States on January 27, 2009.

The film picks up several years after the end of the original series, with Afro Samurai having retired from his life as a warrior. However, he is brought back into the world of violence when his long-lost love, Sio, returns and seeks his help in stopping a powerful and dangerous force known as the resurrected Number One. Number One was thought to have been killed by Afro in the original series, but has been brought back to life with the help of Sio and her followers.

As Afro sets out on his mission to stop Number One, he must once again confront his own demons and come to terms with his violent past. Along the way, he is aided by his friend and sidekick, Ninja Ninja, as well as a new ally, a young girl named Kotaro who possesses a powerful artifact that may be the key to stopping Number One.

The film features the same stylish animation and intense action sequences as the original series, as well as a new soundtrack by the RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. The voice cast includes Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Afro Samurai, Lucy Liu as Sio, and Mark Hamill as the villainous Number One.

Overall, Afro Samurai: Resurrection is a worthy continuation of the original series, offering plenty of thrills and excitement for fans of the franchise.
