Affairs of State is a political thriller film directed by Eric Bross. The movie revolves around Michael Lawson (David Corenswet), a young and ambitious campaign aide who has big dreams of advancing his career in the political arena. He works for a powerful senator with aspirations of becoming the next President of the United States.
One day, Michael meets the attractive and seductive Melody (Thora Birch), who happens to be the wife of the senator he works for. They soon begin an affair, and things take a turn for the worse when Melody's jealous husband finds out about the affair. He threatens to ruin Michael's career if he doesn't end things with Melody immediately.
Despite the threat, Michael finds himself unable to break things off with Melody. Soon, he finds himself embroiled in a web of corruption and blackmail, as he tries to navigate the dangerous waters of political power and ambition.
As the stakes become higher, Michael must fight to protect his career and his life, knowing that one wrong move could mean the end of everything he has worked so hard to achieve.
The film also stars Mimi Rogers, Adrian Grenier, and David James Elliott, and explores themes of power, corruption, and the consequences of one's actions.
