Adventures in Babysitting is a 1987 comedy film directed by Chris Columbus and starring Elisabeth Shue as Jenny and Maia Brewton as Luci. The film opens with 17-year-old babysitter, Jenny Parker, getting a call from her best friend, Brenda, who is stuck at a downtown bus station after running away from home. Jenny agrees to go on an adventure to rescue Brenda, despite having to babysit for the Anderson family that night.
Jenny and the three children she is babysitting - Brad, Sara, and Daryl - make their way to the city in their station wagon, but their car breaks down on the way. They are then forced to continue their journey on foot and encounter various obstacles and challenges along the way, including angry gang members, a car thief, and a blues singer.
Meanwhile, Luci, a rival babysitter, has also been hired by the Andersons to look after the children. When she realizes they are all missing, she decides to track them down with her charges in tow. The two babysitters eventually meet up, and together they continue their mission to find Brenda and return home safely.
