Adam is a drama film directed by Max Mayer, released in 2009. The movie follows the story of Adam Raki, played by Hugh Dancy, a young man living in New York City with Asperger's syndrome.

When Adam's father passes away, he is left alone and struggling to cope with the changes in his life. He meets his new neighbor, Beth, played by Rose Byrne, and they quickly become close friends, despite their differences. Beth is a school teacher who is drawn to Adam's unique personality and perspective on life.

One day, while on a date with Beth, Adam falls from a balcony and becomes a quadriplegic. He is left devastated and unsure how to move forward. In addition to his physical limitations, he is also dealing with the loss of his father, his job, and his independence.

As Adam adjusts to his new life, he and Beth's relationship deepens. She becomes his caregiver and helps him navigate the challenges of being a quadriplegic. Meanwhile, Adam's ex-girlfriend, Harlan, played by Frankie Faison, reappears and attempts to reconnect with him.

Throughout the film, Adam struggles to find meaning in his life and questions whether it's worth living. However, with the help of Beth, he learns to accept his limitations and find joy in his relationships and passions.
