Action Point is a 2018 comedy film directed by Tim Kirkby and stars Johnny Knoxville, Chris Pontius and Eleanor Worthington-Cox. The film tells the story of D.C Carver (played by Johnny Knoxville), a daredevil and the owner of a failing amusement park, Action Point.
D.C runs the park with his daughter, Boogie (Eleanor Worthington-Cox) and his friends, including Benny (Chris Pontius). The park boasts numerous dangerous rides and attractions which attract a small but dedicated group of visitors. However, when a corporate mega-park, led by the ruthless Knoblach (Dan Bakkedahl), threatens to shut them down, D.C and his friends must come up with a plan to save Action Point.
D.C decides to counter the competition by making the park even more dangerous and exciting. He and his friends add even more death-defying attractions and encourage visitors to drink and smoke on the rides. Despite frequent injuries and mishaps, D.C's plan seems to be working, and the park sees an increase in attendance.
However, as the park becomes more and more dangerous, accidents become more frequent and severe, leading to several lawsuits and injuries to both staff and visitors. As the park's financial situation worsens and Boogie's safety becomes increasingly threatened, D.C must come to terms with the consequences of his actions and decide whether to keep risking everything for the sake of the park.
Overall, Action Point is an entertaining comedy with a strong emphasis on physical stunts and reckless behavior. It's an homage to classic amusement parks and the daredevil spirit that drives them, but it also serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of ignoring safety and regulations.
