While working at a space center as janitors, Lester (Bud Abbott) and Orville (Lou Costello) stumble upon a rocket ship and accidentally take off before they realize what's happening. They end up landing in New Orleans during the Mardi Gras festival, where they encounter bank robbers Mugsy (Jack Kruschen) and Harry (Horace McMahon), who force them to fly to Venus.
When they arrive on Venus, they discover a civilization that is made up entirely of women, who have banished men from their society. Lester and Orville are mistaken for the first men to ever land on Venus and are treated like kings by the female population. However, the two bumbling astronauts soon find themselves in hot water when they fall in love with the Queen of Venus (Marie Windsor) and attract the jealous attention of the other women.
Meanwhile, Mugsy and Harry crash land on Venus and plan to steal the valuable gems that the women use as currency. Lester and Orville must band together with the Queen and her loyal followers to stop Mugsy and Harry and save the planet from destruction.
Abbott and Costello Go to Mars is a classic comedy adventure that blends science fiction, romance, and slapstick humor into one entertaining and unforgettable film.
