Leah is a hopeless romantic who has always dreamed of finding true love. However, she has yet to find that perfect someone and her 30th birthday is fast approaching. To make matters worse, her brother's wedding falls on the same day as her birthday, leaving her feeling forgotten and unimportant.
When her childhood crush, David, returns to town for the wedding, Leah's heart skips a beat. David is determined to make Leah's birthday special and goes out of his way to plan a surprise party for her. As Leah and David spend more time together, old feelings begin to resurface and Leah begins to wonder if David really is the one she's been waiting for all these years.
Despite the complications and distractions of the wedding, Leah and David begin to rekindle their connection. Together they plan a Christmas Eve adventure, complete with caroling, skating, and sledding. As the night comes to an end, David reveals his feelings for Leah, leaving her with a tough decision.
In the end, Leah realizes that the love she's been searching for has been right in front of her all along. With David by her side, she makes a heartfelt speech at her brother's wedding, celebrating the love and joy in both her relationship and her family. The movie ends with Leah and David sharing a Christmas Eve kiss and riding off into the snowy night together.
