In the movie, the Brady family is initially excited to hear that Carol's first husband has returned after being missing for over two decades. However, it soon becomes clear that something is not quite right about Roy Martin. He speaks in an exaggerated Southern accent, is unfamiliar with key details about Carol's life, and seems to have a strange obsession with the Bradys' horse statue.
