A Snake of June is a 2002 Japanese erotic drama film directed by Shinya Tsukamoto and starring Asuka Kurosawa and Yuji Kohtari. The movie follows the life of Rinko, a demure, buttoned-up professional woman who works as a phone counselor for a suicide hotline. Rinko is married to Shigehiko, a meticulous and hardworking man who is more interested in his photography work than in fulfilling his wife's physical needs.

One day, Rinko receives a package containing photographs of herself engaging in explicit acts, along with a note demanding that she ventures into public wearing only a provocative transparent raincoat. The mysterious sender, who constantly calls Rinko at work, leads her to believe that he has been watching her every move. As she starts to embrace her sexuality, Shigehiko becomes increasingly suspicious of his wife's behavior and sets out to discover her secret.

As their relationship begins to unravel, Rinko realizes that she is not alone in her fight to escape the trappings of an oppressive society. The film explores themes of sexual liberation, emotional repression, and the dark underbelly of urban alienation.
