A Prayer Before Dawn is a 2017 film directed by Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire and is based on the true story of Billy Moore. The film follows Moore, played by Joe Cole, as he is arrested in Thailand for drug possession and sent to a brutal prison, where he struggles to survive amidst the violence and corruption.
Moore, an amateur boxer, uses his boxing skills to gain respect and protection within the prison walls. He is given the chance to participate in Muay Thai tournaments, which are held within the prison, and he sees them as a chance to redeem himself. However, even with his newfound success in the ring, Moore struggles with addiction and the constant threat of violence within the prison walls. He befriends a fellow inmate, Fame, who helps him through his struggles and ultimately becomes a source of hope and sanity in a world that is anything but.
