In A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child, Alice is now expecting a baby with her boyfriend Dan. However, her peaceful life is disturbed when she starts experiencing nightmares once again. This time, Freddy Krueger is after her unborn child's soul, intending to use it as a vessel to enter the real world.
As the nightmares become more intense, Alice discovers that her friends are also being haunted by Freddy. She realizes that the only way to stop him is to find a way to defeat him in the dream world and prevent him from being reborn.
Along the way, Alice learns that Freddy's mother Amanda Krueger was a nun who was raped by a hundred maniacs in an asylum, resulting in Freddy's birth. Alice attempts to summon Amanda's spirit to help her defeat Freddy, but he manages to strike a fatal blow to Dan in the dream world before she can succeed.
Alice then enlists the help of Yvonne, a close friend, to help her enter the dream world one last time to battle Freddy. With Yvonne's help, Alice manages to beat Freddy and release the trapped souls of his victims, including Dan, Amanda, and Alice's unborn child.
In the end, Alice gives birth to a healthy baby boy. However, as she embraces motherhood, she is haunted by the possibility that Freddy may one day return.
