In A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Nancy returns as a psychiatrist at a psychiatric hospital where a group of teenagers are being treated for their shared experience of being haunted by Freddy Krueger in their dreams. Despite her initial skepticism, Nancy comes to believe the teens' stories and helps them harness their dream powers to fight against Freddy.
The Dream Warriors, as the teens call themselves, band together to try to defeat Freddy once and for all. They each possess unique abilities in their dreams, which they learn to control with Nancy's guidance. For example, one of the teens, Joey, has the power to make his voice impossibly loud, while another, Taryn, transforms into a tough, leather-clad version of herself.
As they battle Freddy in their dreams, the Dream Warriors also discover more about his backstory. They learn that he was a child killer who was burned alive by the parents of his victims, and that his spirit now exists in the dream world. Nancy and the teens use this information to try to weaken Freddy's power and ultimately defeat him.
The final showdown between the Dream Warriors and Freddy takes place in a surreal dream landscape, with each teen using their unique dream power to try to take him down. In the end, it's Nancy who deals the fatal blow, using Freddy's own razor glove to stab him and trap his spirit in the dream world forever.
