Vivienne Wake is a highly successful television producer who is focused on her career and is known for always putting her work first. Vivienne is in charge of a country music Christmas special showcasing newcomer Alexis, which is set to be a massive hit. However, she is also on the verge of accepting a job offer in LA, which would take her career to the next level.
Additionally, the return of Gavin Chase, her childhood sweetheart and the manager to the special’s headliner, Belinda, further complicates things. Gavin's presence stirs up old feelings and memories, making Vivienne reconsider her priorities.
Just as Vivienne is struggling with her choices, she receives a visit from the ghost of her recently deceased mentor, Marilyn. Marilyn warns her that if she continues on her current path, she will end up unhappy and alone. In order to help Vivienne change her ways, Marilyn has recruited both the Spirit of Christmas Past and the Spirit of Christmas Present to guide her.
The time-jumping adventures of the Spirits take Vivienne on a journey to her past, where she revisits pivotal moments in her life that led her to prioritize work over everything else. With the help of the Spirits, Vivienne is able to confront her past mistakes and gain a new perspective on her life.
Ultimately, Vivienne realizes that she needs to balance work and personal life to find true happiness. She rekindles her relationship with Gavin, makes amends with loved ones she had pushed away, and decides to stay in Nashville to produce the Christmas special and be with the people she loves. Vivienne's newfound outlook on life leads to a successful show and a happier future for herself and those around her.
