A Mouthful of Air is a drama film directed by Amy Koppelman. It follows the story of Julie Davis (played by Amanda Seyfried), a new mother and children's book author, who is struggling with post-partum depression. Her depression stems from a traumatic experience during childbirth and the overwhelming task of motherhood, which has made her question her sense of self.

Julie's husband, Ethan (played by Finn Wittrock), is supportive but struggles to understand what she is going through. In an effort to cope with her depression, Julie begins to immerse herself in the world of her children's book creation, a world of bright colors and whimsy. However, as her depression worsens, her fictional world and reality begin to blur, and Julie finds herself struggling to distinguish between the two.

Throughout the film, Julie seeks help from therapists, friends, and family members, but struggles to find a solution to her depression. She eventually has a breakdown that prompts her to confront the root of her depression and trauma. With the help of her loved ones, Julie learns to manage her depression and finds a renewed sense of purpose in her life.

The film explores themes of mental health, motherhood, creativity, and identity. It is a poignant and honest portrayal of the struggles that come with post-partum depression and the journey towards healing.
