A Most Wanted Man is a 2014 espionage thriller directed by Anton Corbijn and based on the 2008 novel of the same name by John le Carré. The film follows Issa Karpov, a Chechen man who arrives in Hamburg, Germany illegally, seeking asylum and claiming to be the son of a wealthy Russian businessman.
Karpov is soon identified as a possible terrorist by German intelligence, which draws the attention of a covert team operating out of a secret facility in Hamburg. The team is led by Günther Bachmann, a veteran spy who specializes in the Middle East and has a reputation for operating outside the law.
As Bachmann and his team dig deeper into Karpov's background and connections, they become embroiled in a web of international intrigue involving the CIA, Russian intelligence, and a wealthy philanthropist named Tommy Brue.
