A Happy Divorce

Drama  Denmark,France

The young man in question is Mark, a writer who has lost his passion for life and tried to end it all. His doctor, Dr. Gordon, is inspired to help him after discussing the case with his colleague, Dr. Cole, who committed suicide himself. Dr. Gordon makes a bet with Dr. Cole's widow that he can help Mark recover his joy in life.

Meanwhile, Dr. Gordon's own life is not as happy as he makes it out to be. He is still in love with his ex-wife, Laura, who left him for another man. Despite their amicable relationship, Dr. Gordon cannot help but pine for her. He tries to win her back, but she is content in her new life and marriage.

As Dr. Gordon tries to help Mark, complications arise when Mark begins to fall for Laura's stepdaughter, Lisa. The age difference between the two causes tension, and Dr. Gordon's own feelings for Laura also complicate matters. Additionally, Mark's ex-girlfriend re-enters his life, and Dr. Gordon must navigate these relationships while also dealing with his own emotional struggles.

The film explores themes of love, loss, and the search for happiness. Ultimately, Dr. Gordon does help Mark find fulfillment in his life, and he learns to let go of his own desires regarding Laura. The film ends with the characters finding some level of contentment, though not necessarily with the outcomes they originally wanted.
