Jack begins to experience intense paranoia and fear after researching Victorian serial killers for his crime novel. He becomes convinced that he is being followed and targeted by a mysterious figure, which leads him to take extreme measures to protect himself.

As his paranoia grows, Jack's agent suggests that he try writing a children's book in order to break out of his funk. However, even this simple task proves to be a challenge for Jack as he becomes obsessed with the idea that his laundry is somehow connected to his fears.

At the same time, a Hollywood executive takes an interest in Jack's script and offers him a chance at fame and fortune. But as Jack delves deeper into the world of Hollywood, he begins to realize that his fears may not be as irrational as he once thought.

Throughout the film, Jack must confront his deepest fears and insecurities, including his struggles with relationships and his own past experiences. As he navigates through his paranoia and anxiety, Jack ultimately discovers the true origin of his fear and learns to confront it head-on.
