A Dark Truth is a political thriller film directed and written by Damian Lee, starring Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria, and Forest Whitaker. The film follows a former CIA agent, Jack Begosian (Andy Garcia), who is hired by a corporate lobbyist (Deborah Kara Unger) to investigate a multinational corporation's chemical spill in Ecuador. However, Jack discovers that the corporation has been collaborating with a corrupt military dictatorship that has committed numerous human rights violations, including the massacre of an indigenous tribe.

Meanwhile, Jack's friend and documentary filmmaker, Morgan Swinton (Kim Coates), is working with the local revolutionary leader, Francisco Franco (Forest Whitaker), to unearth the truth about the corporation's activities in the region. Franco's wife, Mia (Eva Longoria), also joins their cause, despite Jack's warning that their dangerous actions could put them all in harm's way.

As Jack delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of deceit that reaches the highest levels of government and exposes the sinister motivations behind the corporation's actions. He and his team must race against time to prevent the corporation from destroying evidence and silencing witnesses—culminating in a thrilling and violent final confrontation.

A Dark Truth highlights the ongoing struggle of indigenous people in many countries to protect their land and preserve their way of life in the face of corporate greed and political corruption. The film received mixed reviews, with some critics praising its relevant subject matter and strong cast performances while others criticized its heavy-handed approach and lack of subtlety.
