A Cool, Dry Place follows the life of Russell Durrell (played by Vince Vaughn), a single father who is struggling to balance his demanding job as an attorney with his responsibilities as a coach and caregiver to his young son, Calvin (played by Bobby Moynihan). Russell and Calvin live in a small town in rural Kansas after Russell's wife decides to leave him and their son behind in Chicago.
