In the movie, Kat is a talented singer-songwriter who works as an elf in Santa Land, a Christmas-themed amusement park. She is often mistreated by her stepfamily, including her stepmother Deirdra, stepsisters Joy and Grace, and stepbrother Tim. Despite their efforts to bring her down, Kat remains optimistic and determined to follow her dreams.
One day, Kat meets a handsome and charming young Santa Land worker named Nick, who encourages her to sing at a local open mic night. He also helps her to create a Christmas-themed music video and shares it on social media, which goes viral and catches the attention of Terrence Wintergarden, the billionaire owner of Santa Land.
Wintergarden initially offers Kat a chance to perform at his annual Christmas Eve gala, but when she discovers his true intentions to use her for his own profit, she decides to stand up for herself and her dream. With the help of her friends and Nick, Kat overcomes her obstacles and proves that she can make it on her own terms.
Throughout the film, there are also nods to the classic fairytale of Cinderella, including a lost shoe and a fairy godmother-like character in the form of a kind elderly woman who gives Kat a dress for the gala. The movie ultimately delivers a heartwarming and uplifting message about following your dreams and staying true to yourself despite the challenges that may come your way.
