The director, Katherine Clark (played by Kristin Chenoweth), is struggling to come up with a song for the choir's Christmas Eve performance. However, her attention is diverted when a young boy named Danny (played by Kevin Quinn) joins the choir. Katherine is impressed by Danny's beautiful voice and feels that he could be the key to making the choir's performance a success.

As Katherine begins working with Danny to help him perfect his singing, she learns that he is struggling with the loss of his mother and the strained relationship he has with his father Greg (played by Scott Wolf). Katherine is determined to help Danny connect with his father and build a stronger relationship with him.

Meanwhile, Katherine finds herself becoming more and more drawn to Greg. Despite her initial reluctance to get involved with someone who is still grieving, Katherine finds herself falling in love with Greg and wanting to help him and Danny find the happiness they both deserve.

As the Christmas Eve performance approaches, Katherine and the choir work tirelessly to perfect their song, while Greg, Danny, and Katherine do their best to mend their relationship and find love and joy in their lives once again. The show is a huge success, and Katherine and Greg finally open up to each other about their feelings and their hopes for the future.
