A Change of Seasons is a 1980 American comedy-drama film directed by Richard Lang. The movie revolves around a middle-aged couple, Adam and Beth (played by Anthony Hopkins and Shirley MacLaine respectively), who have been married for over twenty years and have grown apart.

Adam is a professor of English literature who has lost his passion for teaching. He becomes infatuated with a young and beautiful student, Lindsey (played by Bo Derek), and starts an affair with her. Beth, on the other hand, is feeling neglected and unappreciated by her husband and begins her own affair with a young carpenter, Pete (played by Michael Brandon).

The movie follows the two couples as they navigate their complicated relationships, juggling their secret affairs with their daily lives. They struggle to keep their affairs hidden from one another while also trying to figure out their true desires and emotions.

As the seasons change, so do the relationships between the couples. Adam and Beth start to reconnect and rediscover their love for one another, while Lindsey and Pete begin to realize the limitations of their own relationships.

The film was not well-received by critics at the time of its release and is often criticized for being overly melodramatic. However, it still has a cult following for its memorable performances by the lead actors and its portrayal of the complexities of romantic relationships.
