A Better Tomorrow II is a 1987 Hong Kong action film directed by John Woo and starring Chow Yun-fat, Ti Lung, and Leslie Cheung. It is a sequel to the 1986 film A Better Tomorrow.

The movie centers around Ho (Ti Lung), a restaurant owner whose old friend's daughter (originally portrayed by Emily Chu but played by Regina Kent in the sequel) is killed by the Triad, a powerful organized crime syndicate. Ho's brother, Kit (Chow Yun-fat), is an ex-convict and member of the Triad who now wants to revenge the murder of his niece. Ho and Kit team up with a police officer, Lee (Dean Shek), to take down the Triad.

The plot of the movie involves the Triad’s attempt to purchase weapons from European gunrunners, while simultaneously planning to eliminate their opponents in the Hong Kong underworld. After a series of intense action sequences, Kit sacrifices himself to destroy the Triad boss and his helicopter. Lee dies from his injuries, and Ho is left to mourn the loss of his brother and old friend's daughter.

A Better Tomorrow II was a major commercial success in Hong Kong and helped to solidify John Woo's status as an influential filmmaker. The movie's stylized gunplay, emotional storytelling, and iconic performances from Chow Yun-fat and Ti Lung have made it a classic of the Hong Kong action genre.
